Evening Cast Drawing

Cast drawing is a centuries old, proven practice that builds a strong skill set for accurate 2-D drawing, and was considered foundational training for all realist artists prior to the 20th century. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced artist looking to hone your drawing skills, our cast drawing class will teach you a powerful step-by-step procedure for artistic problem solving. You will draw from plaster casts of classical sculpture, learning how to see shapes accurately, create a truthful drawing, and render with a high degree of fidelity. Portrait Drawing

The first four Saturdays of each month, from 10:00am to 3:30pm.
$250 per month
Back by popular demand! Our Saturday portrait sessions are a great opportunity to learn the CSS drawing method while working with our wonderful models. During this month-long class you will create an accurate block-in with an emphasis on gesture and likeness, and then model that drawing in graphite. Click here for a list of required materials. Life Drawing Classes and Uninstructed Sessions

Our month-long pose is now open to the public. The same pose is held 5 days a week for four weeks: a total of 80 hours of model time per pose, per month. Our instructed options are an incredibly good deal; 80 hours of training in our proven, step-by-step Block-in and Form Modeling techniques, with some of Philly’s best models for $500 is a bargain; our mission is to make this training as available and affordable as we can for our students, and this class is our absolute best value. Monday Open Figure Drawing
Monday evening open figure drawing provides local artists an opportunity to come check out what Cambridge Street Studios is all about, work from the figure, and exchange ideas with a community of like minded individuals. This is a month long pose and we work with some of the best figure models in the area; a great opportunity to come draw or paint from the live model for an extended pose!
Every Monday – 5:30pm – 9:30 pm
Year-round except for holidays.
Cost: $12 per session.
